Penguin Tricks

We went to the Al Ain Zoo today, thinking the day would be a bit cooler than the rest of the week. We were a bit disappointed to realize it was nearly 100 degrees, barely tolerable in the shade. We soldiered on, however, seeking air conditioned comfort in the bird house, the reptile house and the sublimely cool nocturnal animal house. They had some very cute hedgehogs there. The video above shows Cailin, the child prodigy animal trainer, teaching a friendly penguin some tricks. This cute little guy swam out to meet us, then followed us from one end of the penguin habitat to the other for a good 10 minutes. He was very curious about Cailin's fruit roll up. He was sad to see us go. We were sad to leave him!
